The Blackboard test creation system is better when creating new individual questions. Where Respondus 4.0 excels is in it's ability to automatically convert properly formatted word documents into an online exam format. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. Respondus 4.0 and Blackboard both allow the instructor to create/originate tests within their respective applications. Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Canvas. Respondus Lockdown Browser is a web browser used by students to access and take Blackboard tests.
